Ground convection heater for activating roots in aquariums up to 120 liters.
The Dupla Thermic Set warms the substrate material alone. The resulting temperature difference causes oxygen-rich water to circulate into the lower substrate layers and nutrients to circulate into the upper layers. For aquarium heating an additional regulated heater is necessary. Supplied with safety isolating transformer.
The Dupla Therm heating systems (ground heating with a low voltage of 24V) and the ground convector Dupla Thermik Set developed by Dupla play a crucial role in ensuring ideal living conditions in the aquarium. By upwelling the heated water on the ground, the heating cable on the aquarium bed integrates the bed into the chemical and physical cycle of the entire aquarium. This ideal heating system for aquariums meets not just one but several requirements:
1. As in natural waters, the ground is also heated. If only the aquarium water is heated, as is the case when using a bar heater, the water may be warm but the aquarium bed will still have room temperature, thus making plants suffer from the notorious “cold feet”.
2. A ground heating system copies the groundwater current found in natural waters, the roots are supplied with nutrients, and the substances given off by the roots are carried off.
3. A stable redox potential in the ground, preventing it from turning black. In connection with Dupla Root (see Dupla fertilising system), the plants are supplied with an ideal iron depot such as that of tropical waters.
4. Complete safety for man and animal, even when damaged.
The two heating systems differ in that Dupla Therm Set heats the entire aquarium, the Dupla Thermik Set, on the other hand, only heats the aquarium bed while the aquarium itself is heated by a water heater.
Heating system consisting of Duplamat safety transformer and Duplaflex heating cable. Sufficient for the entire heating of one aquarium of up to 250 litres. Water temperature can be regulated exactly using the Dupla T-Control Alpha or Delta.
Depending on the size of the aquarium, you can choose between four different sizes of Duplaflex heating cables, including the transformer Duplamat 150 / 300, for installation on the bottom of the aquarium:
The T-Control Delta is an electronic Temperature controller using analogue technology. It features a green LED digital display for indicating set temperature and actual water temperature. The 'Set' button is pressed to change the display from actual to 'set' temperature. While pressed, the desired temperature is adjusted using the small pre-set potentiometer on the front panel.
Again for reasons of convenience and safety, the controller operates on low voltage. The mains voltage to the heating transformer is controlled by a remote power supply and switching unit which can switch up to 1000W (inductive) or 1500W (non-inductive).
The T-Control Alpha is a more sophisticated controller based on a RISC microprocessor. It uses a dual channel switching unit enabling new possibilities for temperature control in the aquarium. The main switching channel can control the substrate heating which may now be sized with only the substrate in mind, as the second channel can be used to control a supplementary heater to maintain temperature in the aquarium water.
The T-control Alpha also features programmable upper and lower visual and audible alarms to signal should a problem occur.

CO2-System
Irrespective of the time of year, the water level and the lighting conditions, tropical waters, especially flowing waters, are surprisingly stable. Factors such as the pH value, the CO2 content, and the degree of hardness, fluctuate only insignificantly. A protected water stability in the aquarium is ensured by using the Dupla CO2 system:
1. constant pH value
In the ideal mixed aquarium with ornamental fish from geographically and chemically different waters, it is advisable to choose a neutral setting of pH 7. Even in special aquariums where particular species of fish such as discus fish are kept or bred, the CO2 system has great advantages. Due to the precise CO2 dosage, both acidic and alcaline pH ranges can be programmed and kept stable.
2.stable carbonate hardness
In an aquarium suffering from a lack of CO2 the plants use up carbon. During this process, known as biogenous decalcification, the carbonate hardness is reduced to dangerously low levels and the pH value becomes highly unstable. A sufficient level of CO2 prevents a biogenous decalcification and ensures the stability of the water.
3. optimal supply of CO2 for aquarium plants
Submersed water plants usually meet their carbon need by way of the gaseous carbon dioxide dissolved in the water. The Dupla CO2 fertiliser ensures an optimal supply of carbon.
It features high and low pressure gauges, with working low pressure being factory preset to 1 bar. Precise and easy adjustment is provided by a fine needle valve.
This set provides everything the aquarist needs for a good and quick start with CO2 fertilisation in his aquarium. The Dupla CO2 Set Delta includes a Dupla Safety cage and the pressure reducer fitting Delta. The fitting Delta reduces the cylinder pressure from approx. 60 bar, to a constant working pressure of 1 bar. The CO2 Set Delta also includes a CO2 atomiser (with integrated non-return valve) which evenly distributes the CO2 gas within the water, the CO2 visual test, and all necessary tubing etc.

The Delta Set S is recommended for larger aquaria, roughly up to 400 litres. Instead of the CO2 atomiser, this set includes the Dupla Reactor 400, a seprate Duplasafe Valve and a choice of larger Depot. In the Reactor 400, water from the filter pump's by-pass, trickles over the internal cascade, mixing with inflowing 2 gas, thereby creating a large increase in CO2 diffusion capacity. Here, too, control and dosage are taken care of by the CO2 visual test.

The CO2 Permanent Test is a cleverly constructed monitoring device, by which, the correct carbon supply for aquarium plants can be adjusted. The bell's inner part is linked to the aquarium water by an air duct, enabling the indicator to react to the level of carbon dioxide in the water: green = optimum level, yellow = too much, blue = insufficient CO2. The supply of CO2 must be adjusted so as to keep the indicator liquid constantly green. The specifically intelligent feature of this small device however, is the fact that only changes in acid levels caused by carbon dioxide are displayed, and not changes caused by mineral or organic acids..
The Dupla CO2-Magnetic Valve enables semi or fully automatic CO2 control. It has a high quality brass valve body and provides reliable functioning at all times. For semi-automatic operation, it is connected to the lighting timer so that CO2 supply is switched off with the lights. For fully automatic operation, it is used with a pH Control Delta or Alpha.
The Dupla CO2 Atomizer is a small CO2 'reactor' for CO2 fertilisation in small aquaria. The CO2 gas is passed through a fine sintered glass diaphragm and released into the water as a cloud of tiny gas bubbles. The clever physical trick with the atomizer: the gas bubbles are met by surrounding water movement as they rise, thereby releasing CO2 into the water. CO2 is now available to the plants.
A small bubble chamber and Duplasafe non-return valve are built into the body.
This device is recommended for aquaria up to a volume of 400 litres. In the Reactor 400, a bypass of water from the filter pump, trickles over the internal cascade, mixing with inflowing CO2 gas. This enables a large diffusion capacity.
The capacity of the Reactor 400 may be reduced for small aquariums where no automatic control is employed. By removing one of the vent plugs on the reactor body, six different capacities may be selected
The CO2 Reactor S is perfectly suited for the optimum and almost maintenance-free CO2 fertilisation in large aquaria. In conjunction with the Dupla CO2 magnetic valve and the control devices Dupla pH-Control Delta or pH-Control Alpha, it forms a fully automatic, intelligent CO2 fertilisation system for aquaria.
The design enables this reactor to be placed outside of the aquarium in a cupboard for instance, therefore keeping the aquarium just for the fish and plants.
When used in the aquarium or filter sump, the diffusion capacity may be reduced in a similar manner to the Reactor 400 by enabling various vent points along the body.
New: now available with programming in seconds / interval function / pH 9 calibration / manual On/Off of the timer switched outlets / programmable continuous On/Off function of the timer switched outlets / additional reset for timer programming only. Aquarium computer with six-way socket for control of all key parameters in freshwater and seawater aquariums using a single device. Enables pH-controlled CO2 fertilisation, while the the water temperature is regulated by a fitted temperature sensor. The socket for ground temperature management is controlled by way of the variable diference to the water temperature and, due to an inverting function, allows a cooling device to be connected instead of the ground heating. Fitted with three time-controlled sockets for devices such as day/night lights, air and hydraulic pumps, or filters, which can be switched on and off up to 8 times per day.
A practical pH control device utilising analogue technology, with 3 digit, green LED display. The adjustment of the set value and calibration, are effected by means of potentiometers.
The set is supplied with gel electrode and solutions for initial calibration.
The remote switching unit provides convenience and safety. Switching capacity is up to 1000W.
The Dupla pH-Control Alpha is a RISC microprocessor based pH control device with a three segment LED display. The set value and alarm limits are entered by means of membrane keys. The state of the switching unit is indicated by the green LED in the display of the control panel.
The remote switching unit provides convenience and safety, with switching capacity of up to 1000W.
Unlike analogue units, the pH Control Alpha applies intelligent control to the aquarium, by 'nudging' up to the set point, rather than relying purely on pH electrode information. By this means, pH overshoot is avoided.
